LIKE TO SING?

We are accepting members in all voice sections and we invite you to join us for what promises to be an exciting and fulfilling season of performing great music for Greater Cleveland audiences.

Choral Arts is an auditioned, non-profit community chorus dedicated to bringing affordable quality music to our audiences. Find out what a rewarding experience it is to be a member of this dedicated group of singers.  Our first rehearsal for the 2008-2009 season is on Sunday night, September 7, at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Cleveland Heights.  Call 216-381-4608 for further information—OR just show up and we’ll go from there!

Our November concert will include movements of the Montevedi Vespers of 1610, Gabrieli’s In Ecclesiis, and the Stravinsky Mass of 1948. For these pieces the chorus will be accompanied by chamber orchestra.    In March we will do two performances of Mendelssohn’s Elijah with the Suburban Symphony Orchestra.  Already on board to sing solo roles are bass Brian Johnson and soprano Susan Schaeffer.   We conclude our season in May with a tribute to percussion.  The core piece for the concert is “The Making of the Drum” by British composer Bob Chilcott, an a cappella piece accompanied only by—you guessed it—drums!   Included in the program are African pieces and a performance by local drum circle groups.
